What will you be doing!
- Ensuring timely execution and completion of a seamless workflow for each new employee.
- Delivering the HR New Employee Orientation to Onsite and Remote workers and supporting tasks as part of the Total Onboarding Program.
- Providing employee support as a Contact Centre HR Agent by receiving telephone calls, redirecting calls as appropriate, and/or responding to inquiries within the scope of the general duties of the position.
- Providing human resources policy information and interpretations to collective agreements and/or legislation to internal customers on human resources matters, including but not limited to relocation, compensation, recruitment and terms and conditions of employment.
- Acting as a liaison between new hires/augmented staff with requirements to enter Canada, including but not limited to accommodations, On-Boarding confirmation and support. etc.
- Maintaining detailed initial and ongoing case assessments for further processing or immigration strategy re-adjustment.
- Case timelines and deadlines are recorded, and required applications and additional document submissions are being processed.
- Consultating with Team Lead and Immigration firm, researching and preparing recommendations to present to Talent Acquisition advisor and/or hiring manager immigration options/risks for foreign worker hires.
- Reviewing and preparing case submissions in support of resource applications (Permanent Residency (PR) and Work Permits, etc.), Work Permit Application Coordination, Work Permit Renewals, and coordinating and informing internal and external stakeholders of updates (HR, etc.).
- Providing ticket management to the HR Service Delivery team.
- Maintaining human resources records for employees by recording the hiring.
- Updating benefits provider with new enrolments.
- Preparing various employment letters.
- Preparing onboarding packages and welcome kits.
- Drafting communication to candidates and new hires.
- Tracking onboarding metrics and surveys to compile reports.
- Tracking progress of new Immigration Files and work permit expiry dates.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Degree or diploma from a college or university program in Human Resources or Business.
- CHRP designation (or working towards) would be an asset.
- Experience
- 2 - 4 years of related Human Resources work experience or the equivalent in education and experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced, changing environment managing conflicting priorities.
- Must be comfortable presenting to large groups of employees.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated working knowledge of pension, benefit and leave programs.
- Strong customer service and leadership influencing skills to support client group priorities and present complex situations clearly and simply.
- Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail to manage HR workflow process.
- Ability to establish work priorities and handle various tasks efficiently and effectively, combined with strong organizational and time management skills, dealing with multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines.
- Proactive, independent thinking, self-starter, demonstrating strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to positively motivate, mentor, build and maintain good teams with a collaborative attitude.
- Demonstrated responsibility and accountability for accurately handling the details associated with one’s work.
- Functional knowledge and proficiency with systems-based tools such as Microsoft Office.
- Must be aware of and embrace the ever-changing work environment and proactively make recommendations to change.
- A “change agent” must be willing to help others accept and understand change, share their skills, and proactively learn new skills.
- Ability to ensure compliance with all processes and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to consult, support and liaise effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge or the aptitude for applying the Immigration Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Citizenship Act.
- Knowledge or the aptitude for a full-cycle recruitment process is an asset.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work remotely and attend CNL site as necessary.
- May be required to work extra hours in order to complete tasks on time.

Location:
