Waste Operative – Core Production

Full time :2 shift working

As a Waste Operative you’ll be playing a key role in contributing to the Continuous at Sea Deterrent of the Royal Naval Submarine Fleet in Derby. We are enjoying a growth period, and this is an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing team to support Core Production.

What you will be doing

Ensuring the rigorous compliance to all nuclear and conventional safety regulations

  • Liaise with peers and technical staff at all levels
  • Delivering a defined set of tasks, following procedures to apply established methods in different situations to deliver against a plan.
  • Working in an integrated team to achieve targets and effectively resolve quality issues

  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of waste management within a nuclear site
  • Working knowledge of Waste and Environmental Legislation
  • Strong health and safety background, conventional and nuclear
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on waste matters and providing day-today waste management support to production areas to ensure continued compliance

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
