An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Subject Matter Expert – Process Safety, to join the Subject Matter Expert Team, within the ET&S function of Rolls-Royce, based in Derby.
As a Subject Matter Expert - Process Safety, you will support the businesses on their Journey to Zero Harm through a range of professional services enabling you to deep dive into Risk, Assurance, and Compliance. As a member of the SME team your focus will be on supporting the businesses in the prevention of Fires, Explosions and accidental chemical releases in chemical process facilities or other facilities dealing with hazardous materials.

What you will be doing
With this attractive opportunity, you will get a chance to:
Provide technical / process safety support and advice to colleagues in the UK and on occasion worldwide, working in areas such as, hazard identification (HAZID, HAZOP, Bowtie), Regulation (COMAH, PSM etc. & Environmental permitting), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) / Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination / verification.
Assist design teams in the decision-making process regarding risk management, including implementation of recommended actions from hazard and risk management studies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, standards, methods and shared learning.
Participate in assurance activities.

Process Safety / Risk management (or similar) diploma / degree.
Highly computer literate.
Good understanding of Process Safety related regulations and environmental permitting and their requirement.
The ability to interpret and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's) and the supporting technical reports / data sheet.
