Job Description
United is seeking enthusiastic structural engineer to support power generation and heavy Industrial projects in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office. Under general supervision, the successful applicant will perform structural calculations, develop specifications, and design drawings for foundations and structures. The successful applicant can look forward to projects including new build simple and combined cycle powerplants and plant retrofits throughout the United States that require all facets of structural engineering and design.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
Experience
Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in structural engineering and design.
Experience to include:
a. Structural design experience preparing calculations, specifications and drawings for foundations and steel structures.
b. Reviewing relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support structural design and project development.
c. Basic understanding of the complete design process of preparing engineering designs and drawings based on the contracted scope of work, project specifications while staying within established budgets and schedules.
d. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Experience with industry standard engineering software such as STAAD Pro and Mathcad, etc.
The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and be capable of collaborating with the multi-discipline engineers and designers.
Preferred Requirements
· Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate
· Experience with ANSYS analysis software and AutoCAD design software
