Solution Architect - Network

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solution Architect to join the Networks Team, within the Group IT function. You will be based between Derby and Solihull, on a hybrid working arrangement.

As a Solution Architect, you will work with the Networks Team to provide expertise in the design and implementation of network roadmaps. You will excel in this role with hands-on experience and extensive knowledge and understanding of:

  • Cisco products including routing / switching, Firewalls, VPN, IDS, Load balancing, Wireless, ACS /ISE, F5 Big-IP.

  • Network environments and sound application of architectural best practice (e.g. TOGAF).

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity, you will get a chance to:

  • Own the service design principles across the supply chain and ensure that what is designed meets the business service needs.

  • Define the Rolls-Royce service solution standards (service solution architecture).

  • Review & support development of Solution Architectures and Technical Architectures to assure they have been designed for availability.

  • Mandate and Govern alignment of Service Management processes to deliver end-to-end services and service Levels to meet agreed business requirements.

  • Define & maintain delivery standards & continual improvement of Service Management processes.

  • Establish operational performance management across new Business Services/Solutions from all Supply Chain vendors including SaaS and BPO.

Who we’re looking for

  • TOGAF or similar qualification in IT Architecture.

  • Demonstrable IT architecture experience.

  • Demonstrable service orientated approach.

  • ITIL or similar qualification in Service Management.

  • Hands-on experience of service towers including compute, networking, storage, and database and cloud services.

  • Knowledge of recommended best practices and demonstrable experience for building secure and reliable service platforms solutions (on-premise, cloud, PaaS, SaaS, etc.).

  • Experience of working in both a service provider setting as well as a lead architect role would be highly favourable.
