Role summary:
As a Sales Engineer at Flowserve, it is your task and responsibility to maintain and develop a strong relationship with our key customers and trade organizations. Understanding their business and solidifying purchase agreements, expanding the Flowserve portfolio with those customers and cross and upselling our products. Evaluate customer alliances and market trends, is what you’re great at. In this job you will execute and coordinate all sales activities for the assigned territory in Belgium, the Genth/ Antwerp harbor and Central region of Flanders. You will do this by securing orders for Service, Repair, Upgrades, Spare Parts and New Equipment for both Pumps, Mechanical Seals and vacuum systems. The role focuses on the French speaking (Walloon) area of Belgium so native French and English are required. Considering the two official languages spoken in the country, Dutch would be a good asset. Professional understanding of the culture and language of the above-mentioned area is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Build a good business relation with customer base and also develop and establish new customer relations for all Flowserve products
Maintain regular, planned communication with key customers in the area you support
Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with regional sales objectives to support organizational goals
Serve customers as a primary contact for all business dealings, ensuring all customer concerns are being addressed including proposals, deliveries, repairs, quality, warranty claims, etc.
Collaborate with application engineers, customer service, and manufacturing to ensure customers’ needs are met
Your stakeholders will be: Reliability engineers, Maintenance engineers or managers, Plant Managers, Purchasers, Project engineers or Purchasing managed but can also be higher management. Communication on all levels of the organization is important
Proficient in technology such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
Maintain organized records, including regular reports, quotes, status, actuals, expenses, etc.
Demonstrate financial acumen to discuss business decisions, particularly return on investment in support of solution selling
Ability and willingness to travel primarily throughout the area of responsibility is required. (4 days a week on the road to customers or other Flowserve facilities)
Knowledge of ERP/ IT sales systems (e.g. SAP and SalesForce)
Expectations:
BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 3-5 years relevant experience
Sales experience with rotating equipment such as pumps and mechanical seals in the oil & gas, power, paper and chemical industries. Knowledge / familiarity with API 610 Standards and Nuclear ASME - Standards is a plus
Fluent English and French
Demonstrated skills in leading meetings, setting agendas, preparing product demonstrations, presentations, facilitating discussions and assigning follow-up activities, knowledge of negotiations and business finance
Ability to solve problems and lead root cause failure analysis and communicate results
Strong verbal and written communication skills

You are a self-motivated individual who understands the local market needs and opportunities
hands-on mentality; will work at workshop level and other departments at the Customer Site
