Programme Manager – Composite Technology Facility

Full-time

Bristol/Hybrid (3 days a week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Programme Management team in the Composite Technology Facility. In this role, you will be accountable for providing project leadership for delivery and growth of Rolls-Royce composite strategy. The role will be accountable for delivery of key work packages which includes new capabilities, technologies and products.

Reporting in the Engineering Technology & Safety (ET&S) organisation, you will be a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering & Materials (ME&M) leadership team. You will be developing integrated plans, managing extensive budgets, whilst ensuring deliverables meet quality and cost through entire project life cycle

What you will be doing:

In this exciting role, you will be you will be leading a team to plan, schedule and execute a variety of Rolls-Royce composite engineering projects. You will also:

  • Be held accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work.
  • Propose programme governance and manage senior stakeholder expectations in the business.
  • Establish, develop and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver our projects.
  • Oversee the development, administration and maintenance of the project plans in Primavera P6 and integration with the programme master schedule.
  • Capture, monitor, and report on the full project lifecycle.
  • Manage effective customer relationships and build effective contacts in the supply chain to support industrialisation strategies.
  • Make tactical and strategic programme management decisions.
  • Develop and implement Programme Management best practice in line with company management processes, including continuous improvement techniques to ensure business efficiencies and lean practices.
  • Manage the budget and risk profiles for the project scope, including integration with customer programmes.
  • Create a high performing and engaged team, setting mindset and culture expectations through modelling Rolls-Royce Behaviours and Values

To fulfil the role of Programme Manager at the Composite Technology Facility, you will need demonstrate the following:

  • Proven track record of leadership and delivery in fast paced product development context including experience in complex hardware and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience of managing or coordinating projects or programmes in unfamiliar contexts or subjects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong personal philosophy for what makes great teams – happy to challenge and be challenged.
  • Original and creative problem solving abilities with passion for learning and for supporting the learning of others.
  • Resilience – a self-starter, able to deal with ambiguity and seeks positive action in the face of adversity.
  • Strong IT skills with a good understating of SAP, Primavera P6, MS Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with managing schedules, budgets and risk management processes.
