An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production/Materials Resource Planning Controller to join our team at the Composite Technology Facility in Bristol.

In this role, you will be responsible for a defined portfolio of products and components across their lifecycle. You will be responsible for driving adherence to the commitments accepted plan whilst ensuring maintenance of the MRP and supporting systems. You will also be working within an operational team identifying and prioritising delivery issues, escalating appropriately whilst assisting any mitigation and resolution.

The Composite Technology Facility in Rolls-Royce Bristol specialises in the development and pre-production manufacture of Composite Fan Blades and Containment Casings. The UltraFan® represents the next generation in engine efficiency and the architecture is enabled by our composite fan blade and case technology. This highly advanced technology has been developed over several years and is now entering an exciting phase as we manufacture components for UltraFan® rig and engine test.

This challenging and rewarding role with provide you with an opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing of our world-class engines by setting and managing material and part demands for our composite fan blades and casings.

What you will be doing

In this exciting role you will:

  • Ensure that all production planning systems are managed daily, including inbound SUBCON / supplier delivery commitments in line with the Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS).
  • Manage the inventory levels and be the lead user who will set up the appropriate architecture for new materials, products and subcon tasks for the plant.
  • Work closely with the in-factory logistics team to ensure stock is controlled and levels are maintained on the appropriate ERP systems.
  • Be the first point of contact with regards to delivery for the external or internal supply-chain, as well as supporting the incorporation of new products by ensuring the plant is executing the agreed delivery plans.
  • Work with functional teams to adhere to the business plan, identify and resolve deviations, escalate delivery issues using standard tools and metrics, and assist in mitigation and resolution to ensure the plant is supplied with materials to meet the customer demand.
  • Evaluate material availability, interface with order controllers to address shortages or excesses, and continuously realign the short-term delivery plan with customer requirements.
  • Handle production reporting tasks such as SMWIP, Production Order Adherence, Throughput Monitoring.
  • Conduct regular reviews and communication on delivery plans, measure SLA adherence, and escalate issues as needed.

  • Background in engineering/manufacturing, and Supply Chain Planning & Control.
  • SAP proficiency.
  • A proactive approach to personal and professional development.
  • Actively working towards achieving Part 1 of the ASCM (APICS) accreditation – desirable.
