π The Job Mission
As part of the NSSS (Nuclear Steam Supply System) organisation, you will lead and supervise Hydro-Pressure Test (HPT) activities for the NSSS scope at Hinkley Point C. Your mission is to ensure safe, high-quality execution of HPT, supporting installation progress and smooth transfer to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
β‘οΈ Ensure HSE compliance, particularly around pressure risk management.
β‘οΈ Coordinate HPT activities, including reviewing test loops, documentation, and defining exclusion zones.
β‘οΈ Prepare and oversee temporary means, readiness reviews, and material approvals for HPT.
β‘οΈ Optimise HPT scheduling with other contracts to ensure smooth execution.
β‘οΈ Supervise on-site HPT implementation, ensuring quality, cleanliness, and correct procedures.
β‘οΈ Identify and manage FCR/NCR/RFI issues affecting HPT initiation.
β‘οΈ Support the Commissioning Team for primary and secondary pressure testing.
β‘οΈ Validate and communicate progress reports in weekly NSSS meetings.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
π Minimum 10 years of experience in a construction or nuclear project environment.
π Strong background in Hydro-Pressure Testing and NSSS systems.
π Deep knowledge of quality management, nuclear safety culture, and documentation control.
π Proven leadership and coordination skills for managing contractors and teams.
π Ability to work autonomously while knowing when to escalate issues.
π Excellent oral communication for effective stakeholder collaboration.
Desired Skills
βοΈ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
βοΈ Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institute.
βοΈ Detailed understanding of PWR design and NSSS construction.
βοΈ Experience with RCC-M codes and CDM regulations.
