This role can be remote with occasional onsite travel.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Production of safety assurance deliverables during design, construction, operation and decommissioning.

Supporting our client in managing nuclear safety and ensuring compliance with the Site Licence Conditions.

You will be experienced in one or more areas of safety case development, which include the following:

• Safety Case Production (e.g. SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS)

• Modification/ Design Change Submissions (LC/AC 22)

• Decommissioning (desirable)

• Functional Safety Assessment

• Regulatory Interface/ Generic Design Assessment (GDA) (desirable)

• Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (ARM) (desirable)

• System Safety

• ALARP Assessment

• Safety & Risk Assessment

• Deterministic Safety Assessment

• Probabilistic Safety Assessment (desirable)

• Nuclear Safety Legislation, Regulation and Policy (desirable)

• Engineering Substantiation (desirable)

• HAZOP and other identification studies

• HAZAN

• Criticality (desirable)

• Nuclear Fire (desirable)

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering (NQF level 6); preferably membership of a relevant Engineering Institution and Chartered Status.
Significant experience in a practising Senior Civil Engineering role on nuclear and/or conventional industrial plant in a highly regulated environment; including significant experience in engineering design.
Detailed understanding and working knowledge of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards; technical, health, safety and environmental legislation; Nuclear Site Licence conditions, and quality management.
People management experience and knowledge of contract management is preferred.
