Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and administer radioactive pharmaceuticals for patients.
  • Operate gamma cameras and other imaging equipment effectively.
  • Analyze images to identify abnormalities or diseases.
  • Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Monitor patient reactions to radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety and handling protocols.
  • Document patient procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Educate patients about procedures and answer their concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Stay updated on advancements in nuclear medicine technology.
  • Contribute to departmental quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in training and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Assist with research studies in nuclear medicine.
  • Adhere to policies regarding chemical and hazardous waste disposal.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
  • Current certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT or NMTCB).
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in nuclear medicine.
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong understanding of radiation physics and safety measures.
  • Ability to work with medical imaging software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skilled in handling medical equipment and technology.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in patient assessment and care protocols.
  • Familiarity with laboratory practices and procedure documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
