An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Services Technician to join our team at Advanced Blade Casting Facility (ABCF) in Rotherham.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on our manufacturing assets, machinery and all the associated production equipment located at the production, assembly and test facilities.

The ABCF is a Rolls-Royce casting facility located at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham. We are focusing on high volume manufacture of single crystal turbine blades for civil large engines.

What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for performing installations, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance of various manufacturing assets such as CNC machines, Production & Experimental Test Beds, automated systems, PLC-s and sensors. Your will:

  • Perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks and use precision diagnostics instruments across a range of manufacturing assets and production equipment.
  • Consistently perform asset maintenance activities to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to high performance standards.
  • Safely operate site-specific equipment as required with appropriate training.
  • Identify, recommend and implement improvements to production equipment and maintenance procedures. Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimise the electrical installation / maintenance strategy.
  • Coordinate preventive and planned corrective maintenance activities with Production Staff, Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Production Operators.
  • Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment performance to standard. Work alongside/support equipment OEM engineers as required.
  • Utilise problem solving skills and ability to make sound recommendations based on your judgement, training and previous experience.

  • Advanced level engineering apprenticeship with NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent. To support your application please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic pneumatics principles and operation.
  • Basic IT literacy and an ability to process work orders and pull reports from a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Understanding of the applicable health and safety standards and regulations.

The role requires shift work in 12-hour days and night shifts.
