As a Mechanical Design Engineering II you will be responsible, for designing mechanical systems and components both in the traditional nuclear market and in new projects to develop nuclear technology and future nuclear-powered systems.
You will report to the Robotic Tooling Design Manager and be located at Burlington, Ontario, Canada facility. You will have a hybrid working arrangement of 2 to 3 days on site.
Develop 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings and bills of materials for complex electro-mechanical first of a kind tooling
Assembly and testing of custom equipment through the design evolution from prototype to finished product
Help develop test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specifications
Help operate the final tooling system in the customer facilities
Provide technical oversight and mentoring of more junior members of the Engineering team
Perform both classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) to qualify systems and components against applicable codes & standards
Prepare concise design reports and technical specifications.
Inspire creativity and new methods in the development of new technologies and nuclear systems
Support resolution of issues throughout design, manufacture and testing of systems and components
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
3 minimum years of relevant experience
Experience in conceptual design design reviews and engineering change control processes.
Experience in the design/building of custom equipment typically: robotics, electro-mechanical systems.
Experience working within 3D CAD systems
Experience with manufacturing techniques, welding procedures or specifications and associated inspection techniques.
