Job Description

  • Mechanical Design for STPs & WTPs: Develop comprehensive mechanical designs for municipal sewage treatment plants (STPs) and water treatment plants (WTPs), covering primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes.
  • Hydraulic & Process Equipment Design: Design and size pumps, blowers, aeration systems, sludge handling units, filtration systems, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Piping & Layout Design: Create piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement (GA) drawings, and detailed piping layouts ensuring process efficiency.
  • Sludge Handling & Treatment: Design sludge thickening, dewatering, digestion, and disposal systems for efficient solid waste management.
  • Equipment Selection & Specifications: Select and specify valves, actuators, mechanical screens, clarifiers, diffusers, and pressure vessels as per project needs.
  • Mechanical Calculations & Analysis: Perform pump hydraulics, pipe sizing, pressure drop analysis, and mechanical stress analysis.
  • Standards & Compliance: Ensure designs comply to IS Codes and other municipal water & wastewater treatment guidelines.
  • Coordination & Documentation: Work with Process, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation and Civil teams for seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Tender & BOQ Preparation: Develop technical specifications, bill of quantities (BOQ), and cost estimates for mechanical components.
  • Vendor & Site Support: Review vendor drawings, assist in technical evaluations, and provide design support during execution.

Qualifications

BE/B-Tech in Mechanical Engineer

Additional Information

  • Expertise in mechanical system design for wastewater and water treatment plants.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other mechanical design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, piping, and sludge management technologies.
  • Familiarity with municipal water & wastewater treatment guidelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and coordination skills for cross-discipline collaboration.
