Duties & Responsibilities

Your Role:
We are on the lookout for a talented, motivated and experienced  Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of our dynamic mechanical engineering team! In this role, you’ll design critical mechanical equipment for process plants. You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, gaining invaluable exposure to industry standards and specifications while also mentoring less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping and pressure vessels.
  • Engage in all phases of mechanical projects: planning, concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, quality control, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Create detailed 3D concepts and models, reviewing process plant layouts for optimization.
  • Read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams accurately.
  • Solve complex engineering problems using advanced analysis software.
  • Review and ensure compliance of pressure equipment and piping fabrication packs.
  • Prepare specifications for piping and valves and provide mechanical inputs for datasheets.
  • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects to achieve effective design integration.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of industry-specific design standards and specifications.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8  years experience in mechanical and plant/structural design.
  • Proficiency in 3D design and engineering software such as Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.
  • Familiarity with piping and pressure vessel design software (e.g., CAEPIPE, CAESAR, PV-Elite) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pressure equipment design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) and mechanical design principles.
