The Role


Reporting into the sr. director, supply chain management, this position is located at the Saskatoon corporate office. Cameco is looking for a motivated, team-oriented professional who values integrity, safety and the environment and strives to incorporate those values into their everyday achievements.


In this role, you will:


  • Oversee the procurement and supply chain activities of external EPCM contractors working on behalf of Cameco.
  • Identify interfaces between EPCM contractors and Cameco systems to ensure that work plans meet project needs and satisfy Cameco policy requirements.
  • Assist EPCM contractor in prequalification of vendors to expedite procurement process for supplies and services. Ensure the prequalification process aligns with Cameco’s values, principles, and meets the project expectations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop recommended governance structure for procurement processes and decisions under EPCM delivery model.
  • Ensure that project procurement plans and strategies are aligned with Cameco values, policies, and broader company goals/objectives.
  • Review and approve key milestones in procurement bidding processes including bidders lists, single source justifications, award criteria/weighting, and award recommendations.
  • Evaluate and approve negotiated exceptions to Cameco’s standard form contract terms and conditions, consulting legal department where necessary.
  • Ensure Cameco payment commitments are being met and troubleshoot/resolve any areas causing or contributing to late payments. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities regarding Cameco procurement processes and procedures to streamline and enable EPCM project execution.

Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce/business or engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in various areas of supply chain management including capital project procurement
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered

Recommended:


  • SCMP, CCA, Peng, PMP certification is considered an asset
  • Experience working under an EPCM delivery model, either as a contractor or owner’s representative
