Integrated Product Owner

Full Time, Office Based

Glasgow.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Integrated Product Owner to join our Product Development Team, at Rolls-Royce Submarines in Glasgow.

You will work as a leader in our safety critical product development team, delivering a complete product design through a stringent design process. You will be the Product Owner for a development team using agile Scrum methods to develop high integrity FPGA based applications adopting the latest state-of-the-art toolsets. Training will be provided where required to equip you with the skills necessary to develop requirements, architectures, designs, HDL code, associated tests and supporting infrastructure for applications essential for the protection and monitoring of a nuclear propulsion plant.

What you’ll be doing:

You will follow a safety critical development lifecycle to:

  • You will oversee a safety critical development lifecycle to:
    • Develop requirements, from equipment to implementation level, for FPGA based designs
    • Develop and Verify VHDL code
    • Support hardware-based testing of your designs
    • Author and review design documentation
  • You will develop and explicitly communicate product goals and roadmaps
  • You will create, order, prioritize and communicate a product backlog
  • You will solve product related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments
  • You will be confident in representing stakeholders and provide clear leadership for assigned Scrum teams.

People Accountabilities:

  • You will manage a team of people through their day-to-day work in an office:
  • You will support engineers with personal development and performance

Capability Accountabilities:

  • You will work to establish a step improvement in FPGA capability across the office
  • You will engage across the wider Rolls-Royce organisation to introduce learning and maintain a strong engineering capability
  • You will contribute to the continuing improvement of the development processes and product quality attending regular audits

  • Be qualified to Degree level (or equivalent experience) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Be a certified Scrum Product Owner
  • Be experienced in designing and verifying designs expressed using VHDL
  • Have the ability to provide clear, concise and accurate technical reports
  • Be able to manage and resolve ambiguity on a technically complex product

    • Siemens - QuestaSim / ModelSim, Questa PropCheck, FormalPro
    • Synopsys - Synplify Pro

    • Knowledge and experience of safety standards such as IEC 61513, IEC 62566, IEC 26262, DO‑254
    • UVM
    • Constrained Random Testing
    • Formal Verification
  • Languages:
    • VHDL, SystemVerilog, TCL, Python
