Inspectors - Rotatives Supply Chain Unit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inspector to join our team in Assembly cell (DCDD), within the Rotatives Supply Chain Unit in Derby.

You will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as an Inspector would be to find any non-conformance on components using Visual and Dimensional inspection techniques and using CMM machines, this could be intermediate inspection, Receipt and Dispatch of components or final clear inspection.

You will work with manufacturing engineers to determine the right course of action to address any non-conformance. The on-time delivery of components right first time quality is a key objective within DCDD and the Inspection team play a pivotal part of delivering this goal and delivering our commitments to customer on time.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality Inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
  • Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, including CMM’s, Micrometers, plug gauges, and table-top measuring equipment.
  • The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
  • The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
  • Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan.
  • Understand the customer requirements and prioritise work accordingly.

Key Qualification & experience:

  • Time served engineering apprenticeship, with previous experience relevant to the role you are applying for is essential.
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
  • Looking for candidates who are pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
  • An individual who is confident to work alone or part of a team and will strive to achieve delivery commitments.
  • Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles.
