An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inspector to join our Disc, Drums and Part 145 Facility in Derby, part of Rotatives UK and Compression.

In this role, you will be using visual, dimensional inspection techniques and CMM machines to find any non-conformance on components. This could be intermediate inspection, Receipt and Dispatch of components or final clear inspection. You will work with manufacturing engineers to determine the right course of action to address any non-conformance and you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements.

What you will be doing:

The on-time and right first-time delivery of components is a key objective within the facility and the Inspection team play a pivotal part enabling us to meet commitments to our customers on time. You will:

  • Work to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high-quality Inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
  • Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, including CMM-s, Micrometers, plug gauges, and table-top measuring equipment.
  • Interpret manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
  • Assess whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
  • Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan.
  • Understand the customer requirements and prioritise work accordingly.

Who we are looking for:

  • Completed advanced level engineering apprenticeship* and NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in similar inspection roles. Aerospace arts/components inspection experience – Highly desirable.
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
  • Active and patient person, capable of managing your time effectively.
  • An individual who is able to work alone and as part of a team and will strive to achieve delivery commitments.
  • Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles.
