Industrial Hygienist

Indianapolis, IN (hybrid working)

An exciting opportunity has a arisen for an Industrial Hygienist to join our Indianapolis team. You will be the subject matter expert (SME) in Industrial Hygiene. This position will serve as a key technical resource responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of industrial hygiene programs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Proven track record of driving incident reduction results achieved through the application of sound technical judgment in the development and implementation of industrial hygiene strategies and tactics
  • Knowledgeable of applicable safety standards and be able to resolve complex issues outside of established regulations and be able to assess, analyze, identify and solve workplace environment issues/hazards across the R-R portfolio by performing and guiding others in the monitoring, sampling and evaluation of our work locations
  • Facilitate responsible person code of practice relating to Industrial Hygiene
  • Define and monitor the overall business development requirements for Industrial Hygiene
  • Identify root causes for high potential / actual major incidents. Coach AP’s, RP's and Managers to deliver active involvement in major incident investigations and reviews
  • Use good communications practices to support improvement, influence and change
  • Maintain good relations with internal and external Regulators

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree with 7+ years of Industrial/Occupational Hygiene experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of Industrial/Occupational Hygiene experience, OR
  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of Industrial/Occupational Hygiene experience, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • 9+ years of Industrial/Occupational Hygiene experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must be (CIH) Certified Industrial Hygienist
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene
  • Experience in working with stakeholders in a large complex organization.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
