An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Services HSE Advisor to join Rolls-Royce Submarines.

You will be reporting to the Services HSE Manager and working towards ensuring world class HSE standards by using a risk-based approach to managing the risk from our operations and activities

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

The primary site for this role is based in Derby, ideally this should be within a commutable distance from you home location. The Services business carries out work off site and the postholder must be willing to travel on occasion

What you will be doing:

You will actively engaging and communicating with various stakeholders to positively influence a strong HSE culture on site.

  • perform and record regular site tours/inspections ensuring acceptable standards and behaviours are performed.
  • providing professional advice and guidance to various stakeholders.
  • contribute towards ensuring our HSE management systems are continually improved.
  • identifying trends and ensuring improvement plans in place are completed in full.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • ideally hold NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • ideally a member of Professional Body e.g. IOSH/IIRSM etc.
  • minimum of 3 years’ experience as a HSE professional
  • experience of working with pressure systems and pressure testing, field service work and construction projects would be beneficial but not essential.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
