Job Purpose


Design, develop and implement the Nuclear English Program to include the maintenance of a Nuclear English Standard Procedure. Develop and implement Nuclear English testing and assessments as well as Nuclear English training.

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability

Activity:
Nuclear English Proficiency Program
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Design, oversee and lead the implementation of the Nuclear English Proficiency program, using international best practice, to ensure all programs, processes and procedures can be administered safely and reliably in English.
•Develop a standard for Nuclear English Proficiency for the organization to ensure consistency.
•Verify Nuclear English Proficiency requirements are incorporated into relevant qualifications, Job Descriptions (JDs), and contracts, to ensure alignment with requirements.
•Oversee and evaluate, on a routine basis, the effectiveness of all aspects of the Nuclear English Proficiency program, including assisting with Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and any needed preparation for assessments by the Nuclear Safety Review Board (NSRB), Committee for Nuclear Power (CNP), or other regulatory and oversight bodies/entities.
•Assist in communicating Nuclear English Proficiency program information to the organization.
•Provide feedback and recommendations to the Effective Safety Communications Manager on any Nuclear English Proficiency program issues to enhance organizational effectiveness.
•Contribute and share learnings to enhance Nuclear English knowledge and understanding across the enterprise (Nawah, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), and Barakah One Company (BOC)) to improve organizational effectiveness.

Nuclear English Proficiency
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Develop the Nuclear English Proficiency assessments for the organization to ensure alignment with requirements.
•Monitor and provide feedback to the Line Manager on the performance, results, and progress of the Nuclear English Proficiency assessments to identify trends and key takeaways.

Nuclear English Test (NET)
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Develop the NET for employees to validate Nuclear English Proficiency of staff.
•Design and develop the Nuclear-specific scenarios to align with task categories for inclusion in the NETs.
•Develop NET sessions, including facilitating NETs as necessary to enhance organizational performance.
•Monitor and provide feedback to the Line Manager on the performance, results, and progress of the NETs to identify trends and key takeaways.

Nuclear English Proficiency Training Program
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Design and develop an agreed Nuclear English Proficiency Training Plan and Program to develop and maintain Nuclear English proficiency in-line with requirements and to systematically develop English language skills to the desired level, including facilitating Nuclear English Proficiency Training as necessary.
•Monitor and provide feedback to the Line Manager on the performance, results, and progress of the Nuclear English Proficiency Training to identify trends and key takeaways.

Budget Management
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Prepare and consolidate the Section�s budget and monitor financial performance during the year.

Operational Planning
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Provide input into the development of the Department�s systems and processes, as well develop and implement the Section�s procedures, identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
•Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Section, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities (contd.)

•Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, to meet the Section’s requirements and standards.
