Are you ready to lead ground-breaking engineering projects that will define the future of national security? At AWE, our Warhead Engineering function is at the forefront of innovation, delivering cutting-edge programs like Trident, Astraea (Replacement Warhead), Nuclear Threat Reduction, and Warhead Underpinning Technologies.
This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic senior leader to join our influential team, driving significant developments and change initiatives across Warhead and wider Engineering. You'll lead multi-disciplinary technical teams (approximately 180 people) in delivering complex integrated mechanical and electronic systems, empowering our people to excel and ensuring our core programs are second to none.
Key Responsibilities:
Set the technical direction for the Group, delivering a holistic engineering resourcing strategy.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Lead and inspire multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Drive continuous improvement and sustained performance in engineering strategy, technical direction, and overall capability.

Requirements:
Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
Chartered professional status in an appropriate institution.
Proven track record of driving delivery, continuous improvement, and sustained performance.
Ability to build and maintain extensive stakeholder partnerships.
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Champion of inclusion, diversity, and innovation.
Additional Information:
Willingness to undertake UK and overseas travel.
Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearance.

You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
