About Us

MC Squared is a professional consulting engineering firm specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, and Pavement Design and Management with offices in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Our clients include DOTs, municipalities, state agencies, and large multi-national engineering and construction firms. We are retained by our clients to provide innovative solutions to complex subsurface issues to support the design of heavy civil infrastructure projects in the Transportation, Water/Wastewater, Tunneling, Dams, and Aviation sectors. MC Squared has experienced growth year-over-year for the last several years and our current in-house projects and backlog show the trend will continue.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct various construction material testing for soil, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt.
• Perform field observation and compaction testing of soils (using a nuclear gauge).
• Conduct concrete tests including sampling, determination of slump, air, unit weight, and temperature. Cast concrete cylinders and flexural beams for compressive and flexural testing. 
• Conduct aggregate tests including sieve analysis, fine passing, silt content, relative density & water absorption, bulk density, moisture content, L.A. Abrasion, etc.
• Perform pavement coring and soil sampling. 
• Execute testing following relevant standards and procedures (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO) to ensure quality results.
• Retrieve concrete cylinders from field projects; and dispose of tested samples.
• Accurately complete daily field-testing reports.
• Able to lift heavy materials and equipment (50+ lbs.).
• Use appropriate protective tools to ensure safety requirements are met.
• Complete other duties or responsibilities assigned by the management.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma

Work Experience

• ACI Certification for Concrete and/or Earthworks Certification HIGHLY DESIRED
• 2+ years’ experience performing construction materials testing and Inspection (soils, concrete, and asphalt). (preferred)
• FDOT MAC System experience is a plus.
• Structural Steel Inspection experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate and interact respectfully and professionally with verbal and written communication.

Licenses and Certifications

• ACI Certifications (Highly desirable)
