Job Description

Cryotech Deicing Technology, a division of General Atomics, is a leader in the development and manufacturing of deicing products for aircraft, runways and other applications, currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Specialist in Ft. Madison, Iowa. 

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for repairing, constructing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining DCS/PLC systems, electrical systems and equipment. 
  • Creating design schematics, writing and installing computer programs, and testing the efficacy of the installed program. 
  • Troubleshooting, setup, programming, testing, and implementation of computer control systems used for production automation and industrial equipment design.
  • Maintaining repairs, and installations on various electrical systems such as lighting, electrical distribution, security, and electronic equipment systems. 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists with senior staff to maintain and installs DCS/PLC programs and components.
  • Maintains security system components such as, cameras, DVRs, card readers, gate controls, intercoms, and electronic door hardware.
  • Performs general PM’s on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Installs and maintains lighting system components such as LED, T5, T8 and HID fixtures.
  • Disassembles and troubleshoots electrical equipment in preparation for repair.
  • Maintain/Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems components, panel-boards, breakers, conduit, raceways and transformers.
  • Assists in other facility areas as required.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. 
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. 
  • Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency and two or more years of progressive experience in operation and maintenance of electrical equipment. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education. 
  • Must demonstrate a general understanding of electrical principles and concepts. 
  • Must be knowledgeable of NFPA 70 & 70E, and Title 24.
Must also possess:
  • A valid State driver's license with a good driving record verified by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • General knowledge of building and electrical codes,  safety regulations, and local construction industry practices;
  • General knowledge and use of electrical hand tools and voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices;
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts and other mechanical drawings; and (5) good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document and report information while assessing situations and making judgments. 
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
