What you’ll do…


This position is an electrical maintenance technician role that will perform routine electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of switchgear, controls, breakers, and generators primarily of low voltage (<1000V) systems and some limited medium voltage (1000V-35kV) systems. As a member of this team, you will be required to learn how our microgrid systems are designed and function, ensure you are operating safely per company guidelines, receive periodic quality checks of work performed, provide feedback on design issues/improvements/maintenance procedures to your supervisor for action, work with other departments to implement upgrades and modifications in support of company projects as necessary. This position requires the use of a company vehicle and adherence to all company vehicle and driving policies is among the positions responsibilities.


You’ll make an impact by:

  • Performing planned electrical maintenance on field equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and components.
  • Identifying, and correcting electrical deficiencies, and reporting mechanical deficiencies.
  • Collecting electrical data for prognostic health management.
  • Assisting operations with planned and unplanned equipment swaps and upgrades.
  • Closing work orders timely and efficiently.
  • Managing and tracking work order time using mobile app.
  • Performing all responsibilities safely and according to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you:

  • Prior US Naval Nuclear training as an EMN or ETN with 4 or more years of service in that role.
  • 2+ years of Electrical maintenance experience servicing circuit breakers, switchgear, controllers, and/or generation equipment.
  • Experience with logic systems.
  • Experience with 3-phase systems and power generation.

What you’ll need:

  • Able to read and understand system schematics and cable schedules for existing sites & sites being developed.
  • Understanding of certain circuit functions such as NO and NC contacts, A and B contacts, and how to diagnose what voltage a circuit uses.
  • Computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office products, electronic CMS, and required software for PLCs and Protection Relays, battery chargers and expansion modules.
  • Have an understanding of PLCs (preferably Deep Sea Electronics, and industrial PLC or PAC) and their ladder logic or similar functions or be able to learn them.
  • Understand system electrical protection relays such as SEL and ABB devices or be able to learn them.
  • Understand electrical fundamentals with respect to 3-phase power generation, power distribution, system controls, and system monitoring.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and repairing components of the previous bullet.
  • Have a basic understanding of networking to learn and assist with local network configuration and site access.
  • Familiar with the use of tooling, multimeters, meggers, and other test equipment necessary for the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution and controls.
  • Willing to travel in support of work as required, including travel out of town and out of state
  • Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, including working at night/after hours.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, stoop, stand for long periods, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, perform repetitive motions.
  • Able to work individually or as a team as needed. Willingness to reach out for support when needed.
