Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Configuration Engineer in Bristol to support doors contracts across my clients major civil contract.

This is a valuable and technically stimulating opportunity to work within my client who are a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy.

As the first of the UK’s next generation of nuclear power stations, my client is both of high profile and high complexity. As part of the Responsible Designer, my client delivers the design of some of the Nuclear Island (NI) buildings for my client from their Bristol Office and will also replicate the NI design for it's sister client in the years to come.

As a Configuration Engineer you will be responsible for keeping the contracts’ configuration in compliance with the project. This will be achieved through: the management and the resolution of open-points and changes related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification, technical oversight of the contracts, and the surveillance of technical documentation. In order to do this, you will work closely with the relevant disciplines in my client and its head office in France, but also with the client and the suppliers to ensure the technical requirements are met.

Typical CE activities include, but are not limited to:

• Configuration management, through the control and management of the evolution of the contract and design changes

• Liaise with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems

• Leading technical meetings

• Technical surveillance and resolution of issues/queries

• Review and approval and design where necessary

• Review of non-conformances and exemptions requests, open points, design changes

• Review and approval of contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs)

• Liaise with RD and client management teams to communicate progress, risks,

• issues and planning to support contract delivery.

• Reporting of KPIs to the CEL

Qualifications

• Understanding of Equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, CDM)

• Strong communication skills • IT literate

12 month fixed term contract with options to extend.
