All Bruce Power (Tiverton site) student opportunities for the May 2025 academic work terms are targeting in person placements. ** Ability to travel to site will be required**.
We have an opportunity for post-secondary students currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program. Students will complete a four (4) month opportunity supporting the Civil Maintenance department in various grounds keeping tasks from May to September 2025.
Must be willing to work under the following conditions:
Outdoor environment in various temperatures requiring the use of appropriate protective equipment and clothing (e.g. hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, high viz clothing, gloves, safety footwear)
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining lawns, shrubs, flowers and turf (both on site and at the Visitor's Center)
Landscaping maintenance and spreading mulch in garden beds
Preventing and eliminating weeds
Assisting custodial staff and ground staff
Operating riding lawn mower and other machinery in a safe manner
Other duties as required
We seek students that:
Are eligible and available for a four (4-month) work term placement
Have a strong understanding of safety in the workplace
Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of temperatures
Follow safety rules and directions
Strong organizational and planning abilities
Self-motivated and dependable
Have completed one (1) full year of post-secondary studies and will return to school upon completion of their work term
Have a valid full G2-class driver’s license
Are able to work 40 hours/week with a 7:00 am start time
