Chief of CastBond Technology

Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid working)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Castbond team as Chief of Technology. As Chief of CastBond Technology, you will lead the manufacturing engineering activity of an advance turbine cooling system in an operational part of the business (domestic and/or external supply chain). You will be the overall technical authority across the total supply chain and product lifecycle, assuring the initial and continuing capability of the method of production to produce product conforming to design intent. Ensuring technical support for resolution of problems is provided to operations and collaborate with the Chief of Commodity Engineering (or equivalent), ensure that the method of production is capable of meeting the requirements of product and business in terms of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery Rate & Leadtime (SQCD). May be aligned to Commodity, Process or Site/Region as applicable to the business organization. In this role, you will travel both domestically and internationally up to 10%

Key Accountabilities:

  • Champion people and product safety ensuring that all manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture deployed within the business are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards
  • Create a culture of zero defects within the organization and ensure that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture are developed and deployed to support a right first time manufacturing goal
  • Specify Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements, and govern the change management of manufacturing processes for internal and external supply chain
  • Integrate Manufacturing Technology, Digital Manufacturing and Product Introduction activities within the business to ensure opportunities for improvement are realized
  • Program manage the achievement of Manufacturing Engineering deliverables, report status, and ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.
  • Accountable for the production readiness of new manufacturing capabilities or methods for CastBond products
  • Operate as a member of the global Manufacturing Engineering leadership team, proactively supporting cross-Business collaboration, knowledge sharing, skills and process development to best utilize the available resources to deliver business needs and priorities.
  • Leads the Manufacturing Engineering community within the business, ensuring required competences are in place and promoting the development and growth of the community through engagement and coaching team members, so that everyone can be at their best
  • Manage, develop and maintain business relationships with technology partners, joint ventures, risk and revenue sharing partners and other designated suppliers

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree with 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • Master's degree with 6+ year of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • PhD with 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • 12+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in lieu of degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Technical and professional leadership to a team of engineers
  • Experience with complex manufacturing change in a suitable combination of ways, such as facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion, new product introduction, process revalidation, quality improvement.
  • Led significant projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes
  • General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business
