In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our Governance, Oversight & Assessment division currently has a temporary Business Process Specialist opportunity.
The Business Process Specialist provides advice, guidance and assistance to ensure the department achieves its business goals and objectives, and reports on monitoring process performance measures and assessments. The Business Process Specialist also participates in the development and recommendation of a business process framework, and in the implementation of effective and sustaining performance measures, business processes, procedures and improvement initiatives.
This is a temporary opportunity which could be for a period of up to 12 months. The specific business processes for this role include governance and oversight processes such as performance oversight, continuous monitoring, peer teams, change management, and Nuclear Safety Review Board.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advice, guidance and assistance to ensure the department achieves its business goals and objectives. Provide reports for monitoring process performance measures and assessments at internal and external levels.
Participate in the development and recommendation of a business process framework, and in the implementation of effective and sustaining performance measures, business processes, procedures and improvement initiatives. Provide advice, guidance and ongoing assistance to process owners with respect to business improvements.
Provide facilitation support internally to the Division and to key external stakeholders that measure our performance.
Coordinate activities with external service providers. Monitor and participate in performance reviews and assessments of the business and external service provider processes. Resolve issues as appropriate.
Identify changes and enhancements required for the effective utilization of the key business processes such as Maximo, IRIS/PIC, Certrec, Powerbi, Sharepoint, etc. Provide system troubleshooting. Perform initial identification of system errors. Communicate system issues and critical errors to the appropriate support group.
Provide consultative services to users and line management in the use of the key business processes.
Manage the development and maintenance of the department web site. Work with staff and internal stakeholders to support mutually agreeable requirements related to content and structure.
Support the development of change management plans that will support both internal and external stakeholders with the implementation of new business processes. This includes the development of communication packages and plans to support the business process objectives.
Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university education, or by having the equivalent level of education.
A period of over 6 years, up to and including 8 years, is considered necessary to gain this experience.
Applicants who do not meet the education criteria for a job document may be considered for rotation postings, but applicants should understand that minimum educational requirements will continue to be a selection criteria for vacancy selections to regular positions as per Article 65.6.4.
Change Management Practitioner Certification (eg. PROSCI) is considered an asset for this role
