Bruce Power is recruiting for the role of Business Development Communications Specialist. The Business Development Communications Specialist has responsibility of supporting the company’s key business development areas, strategic policy tools, cultivating partnerships and enhancing internal and external communication strategies. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills who can foster relationships and align communication initiatives with the company’s goals.

This is a temporary position which may be for a period of up to 24 months, offers a competitive compensation package and is located on-site in Tiverton, Ontario OR Toronto, Ontario.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Working with team members in business development, corporate affairs and other internal teams, relevant industry associations and other agencies to help advance key priorities and dissemination of information on business development opportunities and milestones that aligns with Bruce Power’s best interests.

  • Provide strategic support, fundamental analysis and support of tactical execution of the business development team’s communications priorities including isotope work and power uprates. Analyze market and competitor data to inform business decisions and stay ahead of industry changes.

  • Remain abreast of industry trends, market regulations and disruptive technologies that could impact the nuclear industry in Ontario and how Bruce Power can participate.

  • Build, maintain and engage in strategic relationships with industry associations. Support and develop business proposals, presentations, strategic plans.

  • Support the preparation of proposals and reports while partnering with key internal stakeholders to progress business initiatives that would advance Bruce Power’s corporate interests.

  • Review and report on government, regulatory and system operator policies, procedures and requirements as they relate to new business development at Bruce Power.

  • Assist in the preparation of briefing notes on relevant information releases from government, regulators or industry participants related to new business. Act as a liaison between senior management, employees, and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and relationship building.

  • Performs other duties as required in support of the Government and Stakeholder Relations Department.

  • Communication: Clear and effective communicator with a knack for storytelling.

  • Relationship Building: Strong ability to develop and maintain internal and external partnerships.

  • Adaptability: Agility in navigating changing market dynamics and organizational priorities.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • This knowledge is normally considered to be gained by completion of four (4) year University degree in Commerce or a BSc in Arts

  • 4 years up to and including 6 years are considered necessary to gain this experience

  • Stakeholder relations; business development; public communications, technical writing and presentation skills
