The General Aircraft Maintenance Branch performs periodic phase/isochronal inspections, including all related functional checks of aircraft systems and aircraft structures at the main operating base (MOB). The incumbent is responsible for all Survival Equipment training within the Squadron and for the provision of Egress and Aircrew specific training. Conducts inspection, repair and replacement of E-3A Life Support and Survival Equipment. Contributes to the LW training programme.

THE ROLE
The incumbent's duties are:
- Repairing, replacing and inspecting E-3A survival/life support equipment and aircrew NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) gear;
- Conducting of state-of-the-art survival equipment training for air and ground crews and acting therefore as POC to Operation Wing;
- Ensuring compliance with work safety regulations, observance of technical publications and airworthiness requirements;
- Providing technical information on assigned equipment and recommending methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures, AFTO 22 and suggestion programs;
- Assisting the section chief in managing the Section;
- Producing training materials, including lesson plans, presentations and tests;
- As functional area subject matter expert (SME) supports other LW training courses as directed;
- Conducting OJT (on-the-job training) and advises newly assigned personnel;
- Ensuring continuously improvement of equipment standards and maintenance procedures;
- Operating computer terminals;
- Operating motor vehicles;
- Advising and assisting supervisors on difficult technical matters;
- Tracking, maintaining and updating Hazardous Materials Handling (HAZMAT) binder in coordination with the Directorate of Operational Airworthiness and Total Safety Environmental Division (DASTS EP).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Very good knowledge of aircraft survival equipment/life support maintenance;
- Good knowledge of developing and conducting effective (technical) training coupled with at least 3 years of related professional experience;
- Driving license equivalent to European Class B;
- Secondary education and vocational training in survival equipment maintenance or a related field or secondary education and basic training for specific related skills, with 2 years experience;
- The work both oral and written, in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole, is conducted mainly in English therefore sufficient English proficiency is essential;
- Adequate knowledge of Standard Automatic Data Processing (ADP) is required.
THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE
- Previous NATO assignment;
- Experience working in an international / military environment;
- Experience in NATO or other military or government organization working in the field of life support equipment maintenance and aircraft logistics support.

CONTRACT
Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.
Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.
SALARY
Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on the new Single Salary Spine scale.
