We are looking for a Technical Project Manager for the section Nuclear Contracting. In this role you are responsible for multimillion projects and activities mainly in Belgium, Germany and France related to the section scope. You work mainly in Villers-le-Bouillet, occasionally Dessel or abroad (e.g. France and Germany).

As Technical Project Manager, you are accountable for the engineering and technical aspects of a project. You coordinate and organize the engineering activities and resources assigned to the project. From the award of an order to the equipment's installation and acceptance, you ensure contract compliance. 

 

Details of the job:

  • analyze technical contracts and oversee their implementation
  • manage project scope and deliverables that support project goals in collaboration with the Project Manager, senior management and other stakeholders
  • manage technical packages for procurement activities
  • proactively identify and manage changes in project scope, identify risks, develop mitigation and contingency plans
  • allocate technical resources. Lead and assign tasks to cross-functional project teams, and coordinate resources (staff, consultants, and third parties) in order to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • ensure quality, conformity, and completeness of the technical documentation in line with the schedule
  • ensure timely and accurate communication with project stakeholders, including project updates, risks, issues, status, and key metrics
  • coordinate the Project Life Cycle including Technical Milestones and Gates such as kick off meetings, design reviews
  • coordinate the Project Technical Governance such as technical coordination meetings, technical project review
  • manage technical reporting

You report to the Section Manager.

 

What do you need to be successful in this function?

  • an engineering degree in mechanics, chemistry, electromechanics,… (or equivalent experience)
  • 5 years of experience in project execution
  • good knowledge of mechanical concepts (and applications within the nuclear sector are a plus) and the ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • general knowledge of some of the fields concerned: nuclear, radioprotection, chemistry, electricity, electromechanics, automation, hydraulics, etc. allowing you to understand the field of activities in which you are working
  • understanding of international codes and norms
  • good affinity with IT and Office tools
  • you have good interpersonal skills: you can build relationships and communicate effectively with team members, cross-functional partners, and external vendors/customers
  • time management: ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in fast-paced environments
  • risk management: ability to identify potential risks and assist in developing strategies to mitigate them
  • rigorous and good organizational skills: ability to organize and prioritize tasks and manage multiple stakeholders (internal, supplier, customer)
  • you are a problem solver: you can identify complex problems and provide support in developing effective solutions
  • you are an analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to support the Project Manager in thinking critically and strategically, developing effective project execution plans
  • you are able to work well in an environment where several projects are taking place at the same time
  • fluent in French and English is mandatory (Dutch and German are a plus)

The department Specialized Nuclear Services (SNS) is part of the division ‘Energy Transition & Integrated Solutions’ and operates within the Industry South business unit of Equans BeLux. The department comprises two sections: Nuclear Contracting (including Project Management and Site Activities) and Design, Engineering & (Fuel) Solutions.

Together they generate a turnover of €35M with a staff of 300 people. Their mission is to deliver total solutions to the nuclear sector including onsite technical services & material handling, nuclear logistics, characterization, decontamination & dismantling projects, design & build of nuclear packaging and tooling, and various expertise in specific nuclear domains.
