Holtec International seeks a Summer Intern for Vendor Engagement and Project Management in its Structural & Civil Team with the Company’s Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Division located at the Company’s KPS Technology Campus in Camden, NJ. The intern will support the team with vendor engagement, schedule management, task coordination, and operational efficiency across multiple operation centers. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to develop project coordination skills, enhance communication abilities, gain experience in a fast-paced business environment, and develop critical professional skills in a real-world environment. The team comprises of experts in the field of structural mechanics and strength of materials conducting finite element analyses (FEA). In addition to Camden, structural engineers supporting SMR Division are also located in Pune (India) and Bristol (UK) with whom the intern will communicate on different projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in engaging with vendors, tracking communications, and ensuring timely follow-ups
•Coordinate across team members working in different operation centers to facilitate collaboration
•Create and maintain action item lists, ensuring accountability and progress tracking
•Update and manage tasks based on priority, providing status updates as needed
• Create and edit presentations for team meetings, project updates, and stakeholder communication
•Develop and refine procedures and documentation to improve operational efficiency
Minimum Requirements:
•Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field. Ideally someone who's in Junior or Senior year.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
•Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
•Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team setting
Desirable Additional Qualifications:
•Experience with project management tools (e.g., Primavera or Microsoft Project) is a plus
•Hands-on experience in vendor coordination, operations, and project management
•Exposure to working with cross-functional teams and external partners
