Hire Resolve is looking for an experienced SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Manager to join our client's engineering, project management, and maintenance solutions team. The SHEQ Manager will play a crucial role in preventing workplace incidents and promoting SHEQ awareness among employees. Leading a team of specialists, including Safety Officers and Quality Representatives, the manager will foster a culture focused on safety and quality throughout projects and the organization. By ensuring compliance with global and local standards, the SHEQ Manager will work closely with senior management to implement and maintain effective SHEQ policies, driving continuous improvement and best practices.


Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and implement organizational SHEQ programs.
  • Manage and report on the Industrial Division Safety and Quality teams.
  • Develop and implement safety policies compliant with OSHACT & The Mines & Safety Act.
  • Design and deliver safety training on workplace hazards and fire prevention.
  • Analyze industrial accidents and health hazards, reporting trends and issues.
  • Lead safety and environmental projects focused on achieving Zero Harm.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures following incidents.
  • Handle worker’s compensation claims and propose SHEQ improvements.
  • Supervise Quality Control functions, including inspection schedules and documentation.
  • Allocate Quality Control personnel and oversee inspections.
  • Support Project/Construction Managers in client communications on quality matters.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Manage equipment calibration and welding/NDT qualifications.
  • Analyze non-conformities and supervise the inspection of defect repairs.
  • Evaluate and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS's).
  • Promote and enforce SHEQ culture and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
  • Safety Management Diploma/Degree.
  • Registration with SACPCMP (advantageous).
  • Minimum 10 years combined experience: 5 years as Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager & 5 years as QA/QC Manager.
  • Extensive knowledge of SHEQ systems in heavy industrial environments, including strategic SHEQ frameworks and Industrial Safety and Construction Regulations.
  • Experience in Nuclear Safety Principles and Culture (desirable) and Human Performance monitoring and execution.
  • Experience managing SHEQ on large value EPC Projects in Oil, Gas, and Power industrial sectors.
  • Thorough understanding of construction, installation, and maintenance principles, as well as environmental regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of QA systems, auditing principles, and familiarity with project quality plans, contract documents, and project specifications.
  • Strong competence in SHEQ management and proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IFS).
  • Advanced problem-solving, decision-making skills, and ability to conduct QMS audits.
  • Excellent communication skills, promoting organizational values, teamwork, and serving as a link between management and staff.
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning and improvement in SHEQ practices.
