Our client, a large utility, is looking for candidates to receive paid-training as Senior Reactor Operators (SNO or SRO) at their Nuclear plants near Oswego, NY. Compensation is of up to $140K/year to start, plus a sign-on bonus, annual bonus, license-holding bonus, and other incentives. Bonuses will offer up to an additional 35%. Upward mobility.

Duties:
• SNO is the senior represented Nuclear Operator on a shift.
• Directs and coordinates the work of all Operators of a lower grade on shift that are engaged in the operation of a Nuclear Plant
• Oversee the Nuclear Steam Supply System, Turbine Generator and all Auxiliary Equipment and associated 345KV and 115KV Switchyards during plant startup, shutdown, refueling, emergency and normal operating conditions.
• Responsible for proper operation of all the Nuclear Power Plant’s equipment within the confines of Technical Specifications, Operating Procedures, Special Procedures and all other procedures that apply to operation of the Nuclear Power Plant.
• May be present at any point within the Nuclear Power Plant or its associated switchyards
• The SNO may, when conditions or circumstances dictate, assume the duties and responsibilities of the Nuclear Control Operator.
Special duties include, but are not limited to:
• Directs (and may perform when conditions and circumstances dictate) the work and duties of lower grade Nuclear Operators.
• From an operating standpoint, coordinates the activities of personnel working in the plant facilities.
• Maintains an active interest in the Operations of the Nuclear Power Plant and through reading and study should keep current with the technological advances as they apply to the position of Senior Nuclear Operator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Can qualify if they were an Equipment Operator (Aux. Operator) with at least a year of service in a comparable nuclear plant
• Can qualify if they were an Equipment Operator (Aux. Operator) in a non-comparable Nuclear plant 1 year to 18 months
• Must have the ability to qualify as a Radiation Protection Self Monitor.
• Must be the holder of an Reactor Operators License.
• Must have the ability to direct the work of other employees.
• Must have the ability to assist in the training of other employees.
