As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you must have solid experience in electrical systems and layout design. You will be capable of developing design documents, including single lines, load lists, and equipment data sheets, that incorporate the applicable design. In addifion, it will be required that the candidate have excellent communicafion skills (both verbal and wriften).
Initially, the position will require full-time presence at the project office in Warsaw, Poland.Β
Responsibilities:
- Perform Electrical Systems engineering activities, including the use of ETAP.
- Require extensive understanding of all engineering discipline drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, system calculations, 1-line and 3-line drawings, schematics, and ability to size equipment and perform cable sizing calculations.
- Work under the direction of Engineering Group Supervisor.
- Perform special tasks, calculations/studies, and user guides.
- Produce basic and advanced drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope.
- Conduct checking as required.
- Interpret and apply codes & standards and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions, and system descriptions.
- Be a self-starter capable of independent creative design, using industry concepts and procedures.
- Communicate effectively, work well with others and within a team.
- Collaborate with other disciplines.
- Be proficient with Microsoft WINDOWS suite of programs.
- Manage conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities, continuous improvement, team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understand and interpret local/Polish and European codes and standards.
- Provide additional support to customer in interactions with the TSO through virtual workshops.
- Communicate with the TSO and customer on requirements to support switchyard design.
- Coordinate with Polish sub-contractors and review sub-contractor deliverables to support Electrical design.
- Demonstrate experience working collaboratively with a team and providing support as needed.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with +7 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in a Nuclear, Quality, and Safety Environment.
- Experience in nuclear plant design (power plant or DOE facility).
- Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and other computer software.
- Extensive knowledge and application of ANSI/IEEE Standards.
- Extensive knowledge and application of local/Polish and European codes and standards.
- Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their applicafion to projects.
- Experience in construcfion interface and resolving field problems.
- Experience with AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant Design.
- Experience with switchyard design and Polish Grid Code.
- Knowledgeable of NFPA 70 Nafional Electric Code.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and electrical equipment layouts.
- Strong grasp of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing, and cable sizing.
- Previous hands-on experience or extensive working knowledge with ETAP and other industry-wide electrical system design tools, such as CAD 2D, cable designing, and routing software.
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
