Donji Stupnik, Grad Zagreb, Croatia

Are you a physicist or engineer passionate about solving complex technological challenges at the intersection of materials science, electromagnetism, and cutting-edge ultrasonic and eddy current technologies? Do you want to shape the future of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) for some of the most critical industries, including nuclear energy and next-generation Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)? If so, we want to meet you!

Who are we?

At INETEC, we push the boundaries of technology, designing and developing groundbreaking solutions for space, NDE, and the nuclear industry. Our innovations aren’t just theoretical—they’re applied globally, safeguarding vital infrastructure and advancing projects like ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor), and SMR technology, which are shaping the future of clean energy.

We are looking for a top-tier R&D Specialist ready to tackle fundamental technological challenges, lead small R&D teams, and make a lasting impact through theoretical research, experimental validation, and transformative product design.

What will you do?

Your role will be a blend of advanced research, experimentation, and product innovation, with a focus on materials science, electromagnetism, and advanced NDE technologies:

  • Research: Explore new ultrasonic and eddy current technologies and trends for industrial and space NDE applications, with a focus on advanced materials (e.g., ceramics, single crystals, thin and thick films).
  • Materials development: Investigate and optimize piezoelectric, electromagnetic, and acoustically passive materials to enhance the performance of NDE systems.
  • Conceptual design: Lead the development of next-generation ultrasonic and eddy current probes tailored for critical applications in industries such as nuclear energy and SMRs.
  • Simulation and modeling: Design, simulate, and validate probe and instrumentation concepts using advanced computational tools.
  • Product development: Collaborate on the design of state-of-the-art industrial instrumentation for NDE, integrating cutting-edge ultrasonic and electromagnetic technologies.
  • Innovation: Continuously improve existing technologies to maximize quality, efficiency, and reliability while minimizing production costs.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical instructions, design documentation, and product procedures in compliance with international quality standards.
  • Leadership: Manage small R&D teams and foster collaboration with business and academic partners to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Exploration: Stay ahead of emerging technological trends in NDE, especially in the context of SMRs and other advanced nuclear technologies.

Who are we looking for?

We are searching for an exceptional individual with the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s or PhD in physics, materials science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of ultrasonic and electromagnetic (eddy current) technologies for NDE.
  • Strong background in materials science and the ability to link material properties to advanced NDE solutions.
  • Experience with computational modeling and simulation tools.
  • A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • A passion for innovation and a desire to work on impactful projects.

What do we offer?

At INETEC, you will find an environment that fuels innovation and supports your professional growth. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Impactful work: Join a team that’s shaping the future of NDE for critical industries, including nuclear energy and SMRs.
  • Cutting-edge projects: Work on groundbreaking technologies deployed globally, from nuclear power plants to fusion projects like ITER.
  • Collaborative culture: Collaborate with leading experts in materials science, electromagnetism, mechanical engineering, software development, and electronics.
  • Innovation-driven environment: Bring your ideas to life with full support from an organization that values creativity and problem-solving.
  • Career development: Benefit from structured career plans and opportunities to grow through EU-funded projects and international collaborations.
  • Global reach: Be part of a company whose technologies have a transformative impact worldwide.
