General Job Function:


The Principal Trainer plans, develops, delivers and coordinates a wide variety of technical, administrative, and professional training for Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility personnel.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide intermediate and advanced level classroom training using standard lesson plans

  • Deliver training to all levels of employees using Teams and Blackboard

  • Translate complex technical topics into understandable terms for the general population

  • Design, develop and revise advanced level materials for classroom, web-based, on-the-job, virtual, and online instructor-led training using ADDIE, approved procedures and formats

  • Provide instruction, guidance and mentoring to other assigned training personnel

  • Evaluate performance of students, identify deficiencies and take corrective actions to ensure satisfactory student performance

  • Evaluate performance of training programs, mock-ups and training equipment to obtain, develop or requisition necessary items identified through appropriate methods and procedures

  • Administer department records management activities assuring that records are kept in compliance with standard Westinghouse policies and procedures

  • Maintain training metrics


Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:


Education Level:


4-year degree or equivalent in a technical discipline or administrative/educational emphasis with demonstrated leadership, presentation and training skills


Advanced degree or equivalent in Education, Adult Learning preferred


 


Years of Experience:


 


Minimum of two years in similar position or recognized equivalent of 5-years experience at the professional or management level and experience in a manufacturing environment


 


Professional Certification:


Professional certification in instructional design preferred


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


Skills and Competencies:


Excellent leadership skills, verbal and written communications, facilitation and presentation, negotiating/persuasion skills and problem solving


 


Proficient in knowledge and experience with instructional design, Training Needs Analyses,  Adult Learning principles, ADDIE, methods of training delivery, and Kirkpatrick Model of Training Evaluation. Extensive experience in delivery of classroom training with experience in delivery of virtual and online instructor-led training preferred. Detailed knowledge and understanding of technical products, services and manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.


 


Proficient using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and use of software for online training creation, and Adobe Premiere and/or Rush or similar video editing.  Experience with Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise 360, PowerBI, Blackboard Learn, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Audition/Animate is preferred.  Demonstrated ability to interface with, influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization.
