Job Summary:



The Department of Radiology at University of Colorado Denver is seeking applicants for a full-time Nuclear Medicine faculty physician or Nuclear Radiologist in the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Section. We are interested in candidates at any stage of their career from the Sr. Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels.


The Department of Radiology offers two career pathways. 


Community Practice Pathway:



  • Exclusive focus on clinical work with no research expectations.

Job Information\:


Our division has received the highest-level designation by the Society of Nuclear Medicine as a Comprehensive Radiotherapy Center of Excellence. We have a growing theragnostic service, opportunities to grow in clinical trials, artificial intelligence, and wide scope of projects. A new state-of-the-art University of Colorado Research Imaging Center (CU-RIC) is directly adjoining to the GMP PET radiopharmacy. The latter onsite radiopharmaceutical production includes a new cyclotron facility, new PET/MRI, and exceptional molecular imaging research opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Clinical service includes interpretation of PET / CT and general nuclear medicine; radiotherapy for thyroid, prostate and GEP -NETS; tumor boards.

  • As a member of the Department of Radiology covering multiple sites, the successful recruit will be required to participate in all aspects of our clinical practice

  • Participation and collaboration through interdisciplinary conferences is ongoing

  • Participation in fellow, and resident education is expected  

  • Being one of the primary radiologists at our hospital, regular interaction with referring providers within our highly collaborative setting is a standard expectation of the role. 




Work Location:




Work location will be determined during the interview process based on the candidate’s preference.


Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO


Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule with the ability to read from home and from the hospital as the section clinical schedule allows.


Remote – this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States.

MD/DO or equivalent, Colorado medical license by time of hire, ABNM or ABR with fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine, or eligible.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working and collaborating with multiple clinical specialties 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Interpretation of nuclear medicine and radiology imaging studies and procedures

  • Competency in basic radiology procedures

Assistant Professor


Minimum Qualifications


MD/DO or equivalent, Colorado medical license by time of hire, ABNM or ABR certified or eligible.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:


Community Pathway Salary Range

Sr. Instructor\: $420,000 - $550,000


Compensation is based on a productivity model that could exceed the range above.


Academic Pathway Salary Range


Sr. Instructor\: $420,000 - $470,000


Assistant Professor\: $420,000 - $470,000


Associate Professor\: $420,000 - $470,000


Professor\: $420,000 - $470,000


Faculty are eligible for incentives.
