Your Day-to-Day:
- Lead a team for Mechanical Engineering design, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex problems that are not well defined. Common systems include: fluid delivery, mix tanks, ion exchange columns, and other mechanical systems.
- Lead preparation of documents and share technical data to promote learning and open dialogue among team members including procedures, drawings, and P&ID generation.
- Lead complex systems’ maintenance and standardization process.
- Coordinate and integrate complex technical projects that encompass multi-functional areas (typically Electrical and Chemical Engineers within the team); successfully achieve established budget and schedule requirements.
- Lead a team to define and direct approach for successful resolution of technical and operational issues.
- Lead work of mechanical and shop technicians assembling, testing and troubleshooting and provide periodic performance feedback to them.
- Travel up to 25-50% to domestic/international customer locations as a part of a team for field implementation of services.
- Lead internal/external personnel providing periodic updates and recommendations regarding nature and status of work.
- Identify and lead improvement opportunities and present recommendations to management.
- Develop new or improved products/services utilizing knowledge of economic studies and recent technical developments. Coordinate and/or prepare technical documents for products/services.
- Instruct, train, and guide personnel on significant technical projects, tasks and activities.
- Provide mechanical engineering discipline expert knowledge to peers, vendors and customers. Act as lead technical problem solver within area of Mechanical Systems Engineering.
Minimum Requirements
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
The leadership of teams to;
- Design fluid delivery systems, specifically systems delivering chemical processes
- Develop a broad Mechanical Engineering knowledge of systems design
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems to component level; motors, pumps, heaters, chillers, automatic valves and other components
- Knowledge of nuclear reactor systems and servicing equipment preferred.
- Flexibility to work in dynamic work environment with changing issues and customer demands
- Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD preferred
- Ability to obtain/maintain Unescorted Site Access including drug screening process.
Specialized education and/or experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/related technical discipline or equivalent. Minimum 10 years applicable engineering experience is required
- Must demonstrate technical and people leadership skills and/or project management abilities to effectively define, implement and drive projects / tasks to successful completion.
- Fluent German & English
- Basic knowledge of PLC and control systems is a plus
- Basic knowledge of chemistry a plus
