Lead Engineer for Decommissioning Planning
The Decommissioning Planning group is part of the Global Engineering Services organization and develops technical concepts for decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear facilities, as well as provides the decommissioning specific engineering part for bids and projects. The main activities are coordination and planning of decommissioning activities for nuclear installations.
The Decommissioning Planning Lead Engineer will be the point of contact for offers and projects, he/she will take a team lead and coordination responsibility. As such, this will be in a delegated team leadership role from the group manager of Decommissioning Planning.
Tasks:
- Technical Lead
- Leadership and coordination during preparation of proposals (work package definition, coordination of technical descriptions, scheduling, calculation of efforts)
- Leadership to drive development of technical concepts and approaches to different dismantling tasks.
- Drive continuous improvement and recommend alterations to technical concepts and approaches.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Segmentation Delivery Model.
- Team Lead
- Manage & lead an engineering team (mentoring, training, , issue resolution, etc.)
- Support the Decommissioning Planning group manager in workload planning and resource assignments
- Support the hiring process to bring new resources to the team
- Mentor new hires
- Support the growth initiatives from the product lines, in particular the D&D part of OMS Business Unit.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge about decommissioning, dismantling and waste management
- Predisposition for multi-tasking, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities
- People management interest
- Extensive engineering knowledge and recognized as a subject matter expert in one or more engineering specialties and capable to lead engineering efforts on a project at the discipline level
- Capability of effectively leading a team of engineers in the execution of complex tasks
- SME in some skills within Plant Decommissioning discipline will be a benefit.
- TLDP Level 2 is required, TLDP Level 3 preferred.
- At least 10 years of related experience.
