Japanese-speaking Optimization Project Technical Sales & Delivery Expert

We are now looking for a highly motivated expert who can create and lead the technical sales and delivery of Volue’s Smart Power optimization software and services segment in Japan. The portfolio of assets to optimize differs from customer to customer and will even change during the decades of operation life to adapt to regulatory and market changes driven by green transition. As our Smart Power software is capable to deal with all kinds of power generations technologies including battery storage ranging from nuclear, thermal, pumping and other hydro, solar PV, wind, biomass to hydrogen and ammonia mixed generations.

Volue has 40 years of history with 2,700 customers mainly in Europe, with three robust pillars of A) INSIGHT Forecast Service, B) SMART POWER optimization software, and C) ALGO TRADER software.

Taking this opportunity that 25 customer now subscribes INSIGHT, and major utility company has signed on Hydro Optimization proof of concept project by December last year, we would like to hire a person who can engage in successful delivery of first POC project in Japan, and at the same time build new optimization opportunities in Japan where optimization is becoming more needed in the intermittent power dominant Green Transition environment.

We are looking for a person who can effectively transform our advanced optimization software knowledge in Europe, to Japanese customers who are willing to introduce best practice optimization software to Japan.

What you will be doing to make a difference:

• You are expected to take a leading role in Smart Power project in Japan for both delivery and business expansion.

• You are also expected to lead the proposal and negotiation process for Smart Power opportunities.

• Communication and proficiency in English and Japanese in both verbal and written environment.

It is crucial to have an interpersonal skill to understand the difference and bring different teams into one goal.

Since a Country Manager in Japan have deep understanding of Volue’s offering as he started from translating the detailed Smart Power white papers, followed by numbers of meetings, proposal and contract negotiations, the candidate is assured to receive full support for quick learning process for every person in Europe with full back up of the Country Manager.

What you need to succeed:

• Understanding of energy to power value chain.


• Experience in meeting, proposing and negotiating with people in large firm like EPCOs.


• Sense of Inclusion and Diversity, to work together with people of different culture, academic and business backgrounds.


• Good intercommunication skill, verbally and in writing in English and Japanese.


• Ideal to have experience in process improvement consulting and software system integration project.


• Ideal to have applied mathematical, operations research and digital science knowledge, but such is not a must.


• Curiosity and Team Player.


• Ability to manage own workload, with ability to set priorities on what is expected.

The position reports to Country Manager in Japan with dotted line to Smart Power consulting department in Europe. We are looking to hire for Volue office in Tokyo but inter Japan business trip will be required from time to time.
