Your mission
As Geotechnical Lead Engineer in our Infrastructures department, you will contribute to our mission every day by playing a crucial role in delivering top-notch geotechnical expertise for various infrastructure projects in Belgium and internationally.
You will be responsible for managing project studies and implementation, ensuring technical excellence, and contributing to the professional growth of junior engineers.
Your key responsibilities
- Coaching, motivating, and collaborating with small, multidisciplinary project teams of engineers (geotechnics, civil engineering, etc.) to deliver outstanding results.
- Determining project needs and selecting procedures for:
- Soil investigations (geotechnical, geophysical, hydrogeological, geological).
- Foundation techniques (pile foundations, soil improvement, steel foundations).
- Stability issues (retaining walls, slope stability).
- Performing calculations and drawing up technical specifications for geotechnical solutions.
- Interpreting soil investigation results and conducting terrain modeling as well as soil-structure interaction analyses.
- Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards, while adhering to H&S regulations and our internal quality system.
- Actively participating in the training and development of young engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning.
We would love to hear from people with
- A degree in civil or industrial engineering (civil, mining/geotechnical).
- At least 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and a strong background in calculations.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (Plaxis, Flac, D-Sheet, Foxta) or the willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated expertise in soil research, foundation techniques, and geotechnical stability solutions.

- You have strong communication skills, team spirit, and a dynamic, flexible approach to work.
- You work autonomously, take initiatives and make decisions quickly.
- You are fluent in Dutch with a good command of English; knowledge of French is an asset.
