The Extrusion Operator will be the primary supervisor at the press. The employee will be responsible for all members of the press team. The employee will develop the die line-up (press schedule) for their assigned shift by utilizing the work orders that will be issued to them by the Extrusion Lead Person. The individual will assure that the requested dies/orders are run and completed. This employee is responsible for the safety of all press team members.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor attendance
- Monitor and enforce work instruction and procedures for each job classification.
- Review and monitor customer and work order requirements on each production order.
- Review and monitor daily production reports.
- Review historical data on each production order and compare results.
- Review the department daily and prior to the start of the shift and report any conditions that would affect quality or production.
- Issue a maintenance work order for any needed repairs.
- Check for accuracy of piece count.
- Ensure that the piece count and scrap count match the number of billets run.
- Ensure that the recovery rate is accurate.
- Inspect product according to customer and work requirements at the initial run out, after stretching and at the saw.
- Make necessary adjustments, or remove die when a definite problem occurs.
- Monitor Press Operator, Head Stretcher and Saw Operator functions to ensure a quality product is being produced.
- Immediately correct any work deficiencies of personnel that does not meet quality or customer requirements.

- Knowledge of and training to the requirements of all safety rules.

Physical Demands & Abilities:
- Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Multi limb Coordination, and Manual Dexterity Physical Abilities.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Degree or equivalent minimally required.Β
- At least 2 - 5 years of experience as an extrusion operator.Β
- Must possess average computer skills.Β
- Experience with an extrusion production database system.
