Your responsibilities
Are you passionate about electromagnetism, high-voltage or power electronics?
Do you thrive on pushing the limits, switching kiloamperes and kilovolts in nanoseconds?
Does the prospect of working on the world's largest accelerator project excite you?
If so, it's time to explore the world of pulsed power at CERN! In the Systems Department (SY), the Accelerator Beam Transfer Group (ABT) is in charge of the design, development, construction and exploitation of beam transfer related equipment.
Within the ABT group, the Pulsed Power Engineering Section (PPE) is a small and specialized team responsible for the fast pulsed beam transfer systems across the CERN accelerator complex. These systems comprise high voltage/current pulse generators, impedance matched transmission lines and low inductance electro-magnets. The PPE team is now seeking a motivated graduate to strengthen its R&D efforts in the field of fast pulsed systems for the Future Circular Collider (FCC) project.
The successful candidate will:
Take this unique opportunity and join us now to work together on the future of the world's biggest science machine!

What we offer
About us
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
