East Central Community Division Radiology The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Indiana University School of Medicine in partnership with Indiana University Health Physicians is seeking a radiologist to fill an open position in our Community Radiology Division covering the IU Health East Central Region that includes Muncie, Indiana. This is a clinical track position with compensation that is competitive with private practice and allows participation in medical and resident education. Participation in research, while fully optional, is strongly supported by the department. Excellent interpersonal skills are important in this role as well as a patient-focused approach. Muncie, Indiana is home to Ball State University and has many of the amenities of a university town. Indianapolis is a short drive from Muncie and offers diverse recreational, shopping, and culinary experiences. Opportunities are available to teach medical students, residents, and fellows at the Ball Hospital Campus allowing a well-rounded professional experience that promotes high quality clinical care and medical education. Candidates also have the option to participate in research if desired. IUHP Radiology is a large, growing, and progressive 130+ member subspecialized department with a culture supporting collaboration and collegiality. We seek applicants with excellent interpersonal communication skills for this position. A customer-focused approach is essential to accommodate referring health care providers and their patients. IUHP Radiology prides itself on supporting its physicians through growth and providing a satisfying work environment that supports personal growth while alleviating the burn out facing many practices nationwide. Clinical expertise is desired in plain film radiograph interpretation, abdominal and chest CT imaging, and ultrasound. The applicant will, on occasion, supervise and support a fully trained PA/ APP in the performance of paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, and barium procedures. The applicant will also rotate with other radiologists in the performance of CT and ultrasound guided biopsies and aspiration procedures. Evening and night radiology services are covered internally by a robust, dedicated ER radiology division and affords a high quality of work-life balance for the traditional, daytime radiologists. Neuroradiology, body MRI , nuclear medicine, and cross-sectional musculoskeletal examinations are routinely interpreted centrally by subspecialists. Candidates with appropriate subspecialty training or experience would have an opportunity to incorporate some of these subspecialty studies within their case load.
